In Episode I, Luke Skywalker's father is just a hopeful 9-year-old boy named Anakin, who knows nothing of his eventual fate as a Dark Lord in years to come. In this earlier time, Obi-Wan Kenobi is a determined young Jedi Knight. Qui-Gon Jinn is Obi-Wan's venerable Jedi master, trying to teach the Jedi way to his apprentice as their world begins to unravel in political turmoil. This first chapter in the Star Wars saga follows young Anakin Skywalker's journey as he pursues his dreams and confronts his fears in the midst of a galaxy in crisis.

into the thick of treachery and galactic politics, the Jedi face more
than they bargain for on a mission gone badly awry. In the course of their
adventures they reach a forbidding world in the Outer-Rim - the remote
desert planet of Tatooine - where they encounter the boy Anakin Skywalker,
living in overty. He is gifted and good-hearted, and Qui-Gon Jinn sees
something even more than all the promise of youth in this boy - Anakin
is strong with the force.

Dark enemies challenge the Jedi with dangerous strength and ferocity, and amidst the chaos, freedom and justice are threatened at many levels. Young Anakin Skywalker faces the path of his destiny, and his remarkable abilities mark him as a unique individual. Although, as some of the Jedi can sense, his future is strangely clouded.
