
A NEW HOPE It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet. Persued by the Empire's sinister agents, Princess Leia races home aboard her starship, custodian of the stolen plans that can save her people and restore freedom to the galaxy.... "StarWars: A New Hope" [20th Century Fox, 1977] After young Luke Skywalker finds two droids with a message from Princess Leia Organa asking for Ben "Obi-Wan" Kenobi's help, they locate Ben, who turns out to be a Jedi Master of the Force. The two team up with smuggler Han Solo and Chewbacca the Wookiee, on their ship the Millenium Falcon, to save Leia. When they're all captured and brought aboard the Empire's massive weapon, the Death Star, Kenobi and the fallen Jedi Darth Vader battle. While the rest of the gang rescues Leia, Vader kills Kenobi, and Luke uses his newfound Force powers to destroy the Death Star. |

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK It is a dark time for the Rebellion. Although the Death Star has been destroyed, Imperial troops have driven the Rebel forces from their hidden base and pursued them across the galaxy.... Evading the dreaded Imperial starfleet, a group of freedom fighters led by Luke Skywalker has established a new secret base on the remote ice world of Hoth. The evil Lord Vader, obsessed with finding young skywalker, has dispatched thousands of remote probes into the far reaches of space. Unbeknownst to the Rebel forces, one of the probes has headed for Hoth. "The Empire Strikes Back" [20th Century Fox, 1980] Luke trains on Dagobah under the Jedi Master Yoda, while Han, Leia and Chewbacca visit Han's old pal Landa Calrissian in Bespin. But to save his city, Lando betrays Han to Darth Vader. Frozen in caronite, Han is taken by bounty hunter Boba Fett to the crimelord Jabba the Hutt. Before finishing his training, Luke sets out to save his friends and ends up battling Vader, who reveals himself that he's really Luke's father, the fallen Jedi Anakin Skywalker. Luke loses his hand in the lightsaber duel, but escapes and catches up with Lando, who managed to rescue Leia and Chewbacca. Han, however, is still in Jabba's slimy hands... |

RETURN OF THE JEDI Luke skywalker has returned to his home planet Tatooine in an attempth to rescue his friend Han Solo from the clutches of the vile gangster Jabba the Hutt. Little does Luke know that the GALACTIC EMPIRE has secretly begun construction on a new armored space station even more powerful than the first dreaded Death Star. When completed, this ultimate weapon will spell certain doom for the small band of rebels, struggling to restore freedom to the galaxy... "Return of the Jedi" [20th Century Fox, 1983] The original movie trilogy comes to a climatic finish as Luke defeats Jabba, rescues Han and returns to Dagobah for his Jedi training with Yoda, where he learns that Leia is really his sister. Meanwhile, with the help of the fuzzy little ewoks on the forest moon of Endor, Han and Leia destroy an Imperial shield generator that's protecting an all-new Death Star. As that's going on, Luke's battling Vader with the malevolent Emperor looking on and trying to seduce Luke to the Dark Side of the Force. In the end, Vader saves Luke and is killed destroying the Emperor. In the Millenium Falcon, Lando and an X-wing squadron head to the now-unshielded Death Star and destroy it. |
